AVMA 2010

Continuing Education Verification Information

Attendees Can Earn up to 40 CE Credit Hours in Atlanta

Every hour of participation in the Educational Program at the 2010 AVMA Annual Convention is potentially worth one hour of CE credit for license renewal purposes. A Record of Participation form, which may be used to record attendance at educational sessions will be provided on-site. Individual licensing authorities may require additional documentation such as registration receipts or other program information. The AVMA will provide an attendance/CE Certificate and/or registration receipt upon request.

Check Your State's Requirements Prior to the Convention
Some states require signatures on the Record of Participation form. Moderators assigned to each educational program will be available at the end of the session to initial the form. Verification can also be obtained in the Speaker Ready Room. Final determination of the acceptance of a program for CE accrual is the responsibility of the individual licensing authority. Contact your state veterinary board for CE requirements. For a list of state veterinary boards visit the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) Web site.

Obtain CE Credit Information and Certificates for past AVMA conventions
If you misplaced the CE Participation Form included in your registration materials for past AVMA conventions, you may request a Certificate of Participation or registration receipt to show your attendance. To request a certificate, contact Joanne Mazur at jmazur@avma.org. Please put "CE certificate request" in the subject line.

Attention Texas-Licensed Veterinarians

In compliance with changes to the Texas Veterinary Licensing Act mandated by the 79th Legislature, the AVMA has established procedures for verifying continuing education (CE) credit at the AVMA Annual Convention.

If you are a veterinarian licensed in the State of Texas

Upon arrival at the Georgia World Congress Center, you must check in at the TEXAS CE counter located in the registration area to have your Exhibit Hall Lead Retrieval card swiped and to pick up a preprinted CE Program Checklist to track individual sessions. Each session listed will have the date, session title, CE value and a check box to mark.

Before the close of convention return to the TEXAS CE counter

Your Exhibit Hall Lead Retrieval card will be swiped again and you can pick up, sign and date a CE Certificate for your records. This certificate will not be mailed.  This is in addition to the general CE Certificate provided for attending the AVMA Annual Convention. Visit the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners Web site for further information and regulations.
